Dr. Miriam Solis is an Assistant Professor of Community and Regional Planning at the University of Texas at Austin. Her research focuses on the intersection of environmental justice and community economic development. She applies participatory methods in her research and practice. Dr. Solis is a board member of UT Austin’s Center for American Architecture and Design. She is also a National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Gulf Coast Program Early Career Fellow and a Robert and Patricia Switzer Foundation Fellow. Her 2020 studio course received the American Planning Association-Texas Award for Advancing Diversity and Social Justice. Dr. Solis earned her Ph.D. in City and Regional Planning from the University of California, Berkeley.
