The Tiger Writing and Reading Online Tutoring Lab provide face-to-face and online tutorial services in any phase of the writing process. Our lab will provide suggestions for improving the content of the paper structure based on MLA or APA guidelines and rhetorical stylistic development based on the assignment. We offer a variety of online resources and information on writing basics across the curriculum. The Tiger Writing Lab is in MLK 252 on the 2nd Floor.
Schedule an Appointment
The Writing Lab offers two types of synchronous writing consultations: In-Person Writing Sessions and Virtual Sessions. These sessions are 30 minutes long. Our appointment is designed to help you identify and address problems areas in the organization, grammatical errors, formatting conventions, and MLA or APA style.
Lab Guidelines for Appointments and Paper Submission:
- Writers can schedule appointments anytime via email to tigerowl@powerorigin.net
- If you do not cancel your appointment and do not show up to the appointment, you are marked as a No Show. After two (2) No Shows, you will no longer be able to make appointments online and must call us to schedule any consultations you would like.
- Students must bring a copy of the assignment or essay prompt and a hard copy (typed) of the paper.

- You may submit the same paper twice as long as revisions based on our comments have been made between submissions.
- Drop-in is welcome to see a tutor. However, we will not meet with students who walk in the lab for aid 15 minutes to closing.
- You must use your TSU email address to submit your paper. Failure to use an @tsu.student.edu will result in immediate rejection.
